چکیده

Objectives: Studies suggest a beneficial effect of transdermal testosterone (TT) used prior to controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) on reproductive outcomes in poor responders. Our aim was evaluate the adverse effects and serum concentrations testosterone, sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), estradiol, following new TT dosage associated with combined oral contraceptive (COC) before COS Methods: Pilot case-control study which each patient her own case-control. Women response fulfilling Bologna Criteria were recruited submitted (Control Cycle - CC) perform ICSI. Those who did not become pregnant subjected another previous use (25 mg/48 hours, for 60 days), COC (Testosterone Cycle-TC). Blood samples taken at beginning first (D1); day oocyte retrieval (D2), (D3); days after Testo-COC usage (D4); second (D5). Adverse total free SHBG analyzed. Results: Six women concluded both cycles. Testosterone higher D4 than D1 (p=0.009, p=0.041) D3 (p=0.010, p=0.031). (p=0.028). Estradiol D2 (p<0.001) D5 (p=0.001) (p=0.002). Mild observed. Conclusion: The caused only mild resulted significantly basal conditions.

Individualized controlled ovarian stimulation in expected poor-responders: an update

Controlled ovarian stimulation with subsequent multi-follicular development continues to be a keystone in ART. Evidence supports an individualized approach to ovarian stimulation, usually involving combinations of ovarian reserve tests, body mass index and age to tailor the exogenous gonadotropin dose, and potentially adjuvant treatment aiming for high safety and a shortening of time to live bi...

Effect of pretreatment with transdermal testosterone on poor ovarian responders undergoing IVF/ICSI: A meta-analysis

In order to identify and describe the effectiveness of transdermal testosterone pretreatment on poor ovarian responders, MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane library and the Chinese biomedical database were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Three RCTs, which compared the outcomes of female pretreatment with transdermal testosterone prior to in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm...

ANDRO-IVF: a novel protocol for poor responders to IVF controlled ovarian stimulation

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess a novel protocol designed to improve poor ovarian response through intra-ovarian androgenization. The endpoints were: number of oocytes and mature oocytes retrieved, fertilization, cancellation and pregnancy rates. METHODS This prospective crossover study enrolled poor responders from previous ovarian stimulation cycles submitted to a novel protocol called...

Comparison of mild ovarian stimulation with conventional ovarian stimulation in poor responders

OBJECTIVE To compare the IVF outcomes of mild ovarian stimulation with conventional ovarian stimulation in poor responders. METHODS From 2004 to 2009, 389 IVF cycles in 285 women showed poor responses (defined as either a basal FSH level ≥12 mIU/mL, or the number of retrieved oocytes ≤3, or serum E(2) level on hCG day <500 pg/mL) were analyzed, retrospectively. In total, 119 cycles with mild ...

The influence of different growth hormone addition protocols to poor ovarian responders on clinical outcomes in controlled ovary stimulation cycles

BACKGROUND Growth hormone (GH) is used as an adjuvant therapy in in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) for poor ovarian responders, but findings for its effects on outcomes of IVF have been conflicting. The aim of the study was to compare IVF-ET outcomes among women with poor ovarian responders, and find which subgroup can benefit from the GH addition. METHODS We searched the da...
